Ever since its introduction to the United States, the Audi RS6 Avant has garnered a dedicated following among car and wagon enthusiasts alike. With its potent engine, exceptional RS suspension and handling, and the allure of being a wagon in a market saturated with crossovers, the RS6 Avant has stood out. As the current generation RS6 approaches the end of its tenure, Audi unveils its final surprise – the limited-edition RS6 Avant GT for the 2025 model year. With only 660 units slated for global production, this special edition draws inspiration from the RS6 GTO concept of 2020 and pays homage to the iconic Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO race car from the late 1980s.
Distinguished by exclusive details both inside and out, the RS6 Avant GT marks a significant departure from its predecessors. Notably, it becomes the first Audi to feature carbon-fiber elements on its hood, with substantial pieces extending from the hood’s vents to near the windshield. Complementing this are a newly designed high-gloss black Singleframe grille and air intakes, accentuating the distinctive character of this special RS6 Avant. The six-spoke, 22-inch wheels enhance the vehicle’s stance, while the air intakes positioned behind the wheel arches serve a functional purpose by aiding in brake cooling. From the rear, the imposing presence of a massive rear wing, reminiscent of the one found on the GTO concept, along with a striking rear diffuser and dual exhausts, solidifies the RS6 Avant GT as an object of desire from every angle.
Offered in a choice of five exterior colors and three color wraps, U.S. buyers will exclusively receive the Arkona White exterior paired with the Heritage package and white wheels, as depicted in the accompanying visuals.
The interior of the RS6 Avant GT receives a sporty makeover to complement its bold exterior aesthetics. While the bucket seats, evoking a race-car-inspired feel, unfortunately won’t be available in the U.S. market, American customers will still enjoy the standard RS6 Avant performance seats featuring red and copper stitching. These seats offer exceptional lateral support and are adorned with carbon-fiber trim on the back, alongside distinctive honeycomb stitching and RS6 GT logos on the headrests, setting a new benchmark for Audi interiors. The cabin, presented in a black color scheme with copper accents and red stitching throughout, further emphasizes the exclusivity of the RS6 Avant GT, with RS6 GT logos adorning the illuminated door sills and puddle lights.
Each RS6 Avant GT bears a unique serial number on the center console adjacent to the cupholders, signifying its limited production status. Additionally, the interior distinguishes itself with the use of Dinamica black microfiber instead of leather, contributing to a bespoke feel.
Underneath the hood, the RS6 Avant GT retains the formidable 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine shared with the RS6 Avant Performance. Boasting 621 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, power delivery remains exhilarating. An eight-speed transmission channels power to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, with a locking center differential distributing power in a 40/60 front-to-rear split. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is anticipated to take around 3.3 seconds, subject to verification. The Quattro sport differential on the RS6 Avant GT has been specifically tuned for enhanced agility and rear bias in dynamic mode, ensuring an engaging driving experience.
For the first time in an RS6 Avant, an adjustable coil-over suspension is offered, reducing the ride height by 10 millimeters compared to the standard RS6 Avant. Stiffer stabilizers at the front and rear contribute to a sportier ride and reduced body roll. Customers can opt for the RS sport suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control or the adaptive air suspension for further customization, according to Audi’s specifications.
Equipped with high-performance Continental Sport Contact 7 tires, the RS6 Avant GT delivers exceptional grip and handling characteristics in both wet and dry conditions, shortening the braking distance by 6.5 feet during a 62-0 mph braking test. The ceramic brakes from the RS6 Avant Performance model are carried over to the GT variant, ensuring formidable stopping power.
Limited to just 660 units worldwide, with only 85 allocated for the U.S. market, the 2025 Audi RS6 Avant GT is poised to make a statement. Production rollout is slated for later in the year, with Europe receiving the initial batch. While pricing for North America is yet to be confirmed, German buyers can expect to pay 290,000 euros, or approximately $313,000. Despite its hefty price tag, the blend of limited availability and nostalgic design cues ensures the RS6 Avant GT’s appeal among enthusiasts, guaranteeing its status as a modern classic.
