2025 Cadillac CT5-V and Blackwing: A Bold Evolution of American Sport Sedans

Cadillac has unleashed the 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, signaling a powerful and visually striking evolution for American sport sedans. Embracing the spirit of performance, these models come equipped with updates that enhance both aesthetics and technology, showcasing Cadillac’s commitment to delivering an exhilarating driving experience.

Visual Refinement

The midcycle refresh brings a refreshed front end to both the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing. Thinner one-piece vertical LED running lights, along with stacked LED projector lights, contribute to a cleaner and more aggressive look. This facelift complements the modern design of these sport sedans, offering a tighter and more upscale appearance. Three new colors, including Drift Metallic (exclusive to the Blackwing), Typhoon Metallic, and Deep Space Metallic, provide additional choices for personalization.

The CT5-V Blackwing, in particular, boasts a larger lower grille and increased low-temp radiator air inlets. Despite these changes, Cadillac assures that the Blackwing’s performance remains uncompromised, meeting or exceeding targets for various factors, including cooling airflow, drag, lift, front and rear balance, and pitch moment. The 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque from the supercharged V-8 engine continue to make the Blackwing a force to be reckoned with, capable of reaching speeds beyond 200 mph.

Performance and Technology Fusion

Underneath the hood, the CT5-V retains its potent 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6, delivering 360 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the CT5-V offers a dynamic driving experience with rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive options.

Beyond the exterior enhancements, the interior of the CT5-V series receives a notable upgrade. A new 33-inch curved 9K LED display, based on the Android Automotive operating system, features Google Maps, Google Play store, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa Built-In, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay phone mirroring. The performance app, specifically tailored for the V-Series, allows users to access customizable circular gauges or a real-time strip chart for performance data.

An optional Performance Data Recorder (PDR) takes advantage of the increased display area, offering 34 recorded data points for a comprehensive analysis of driving performance. With features like in-car analysis and the Cosworth Toolbox analysis software, the PDR caters to enthusiasts who seek to maximize their driving experience on and off the track.

Availability and Pricing

Production is set to begin in the summer, with pricing yet to be officially announced. The CT5-V Blackwing, available in limited numbers, is expected to be a sought-after gem, starting around $90,000 and potentially exceeding $110,000 with additional features like carbon seats, carbon brakes, and the Performance Data Recorder. The CT5-V, with its enticing blend of performance and accessibility, is projected to have a starting price around $54,000. These models showcase Cadillac’s dedication to advancing the legacy of American sport sedans, combining power, style, and cutting-edge technology.
